Virtual Class on Chronic Illness, Disability, and Sex 11-27 @ 7:30 pm Central

In this class, sex educator Grayson provides a quick overview of how disabilities and other health issues affect our sexuality – from self-esteem to relationships and more. He’ll spend most of the time covering ways to confront these challenges head-on, such as communication techniques, BDSM, sex toys, exercises, and more!

All genders are welcome.

Grayson Schultz is a sex educator and writer currently in Wisconsin. As a juvenile arthritis patient since age 5, he knows how hard it can be to live a full life while dealing with health issues. That’s why he works most closely with other chronically ill and disabled people, helping them to find workarounds, explore themselves, and discover their lives after diagnosis.

Over the last decade, Grayson has worked with organizations all around the world including universities, pharmaceutical companies, academic conferences, and patient organizations. In addition, his work has been featured in articles from publications such as US News, Broadly, Teen Vogue, and Metro UK.

Grayson holds an MS in Healthcare Administration from Utica College. When he’s not working or stuck at home during the pandemic, he enjoys writing, gaming, and reading. You can learn more about him and his work at chronicsex.org.

Don’t Miss The Next Crip Bits!

Join Sins Invalid on Facebook Monday, October 15th at 9:15 PM Eastern/6:15 PM Pacific. Patty Berne and Nomy Lamm will be discussing beauty on the latest installment of Crip Bits:

What does it feel like to be open to and in awe of beauty, and why does it matter? What does it mean to live a life in devotion to beauty and liberation? How do we hold our beauty as sacred while refusing to entertain the commodifying aspects of conventional beauty standards?
Patty Berne and Nomy Lamm will discuss the revolutionary possibilities of crip beauty, as well as the limitations of beauty as a political motivator. They will share about their own beauty practices, including makeup and adornment, body tending, altar keeping, music, art, song, prayer, performance, sex, magic and ritual.
The event will take place on Facebook Live – if you are logged into FB when the event begins and follow the Sins Invalid page, you should receive a notification when we go live. Otherwise, you can find the event by clicking the “video” tab on the Sins Invalid page at the time of the event and after.
Make sure to go like Sins Invalid on Facebook, and join in on Monday.

Queering the Crip Body on Monday the 25th

Sins Invalid‘s Crip Bits series is back discussing Queering the Crip Body this Monday, June 25th, at 6:15 PM Pacific Time.

Here’s the description: Crip bodies challenge hetero-normative expectations of gender and sexuality, offering widely varying abilities and ways of showing beauty. Because of this challenge to straightness, our bodies are queer by nature, resisting the forced and tired extras of how we “should” represent our genders and our desires because we do not and cannot perform the artificial imaginings of binary gender.

It’s also live captioned! Click here to view that once the FB live video begins.

Make sure to follow their FB page to get the alert they’ve gone live or RSVP to the event page.
